Relaunching the Employbl newsletter on Substack: Decentralized Economy

For the past year or so I've become interested in how to build a better society. I'm definitely trying to do that through providing information about startups and tech companies for free, information that otherwise people would have to pay gatekeepers for. But the reality though is that change requires action and clear thought about what we want the future to look like.

I had a newsletter on ConvertKit but shifted over to Substack because I like the UI and I think that'll help me write the newsletter more regularly. I've also set a focus for the newsletter. It's called "Decentralized Economy" and it'll showcase the regular information about tech news and new startup funding rounds, but also explore the ways in which economic power in our society can be decentralized. Right now economic power across America is highly concentrated. From cheerleading to meat to big tech and finance a few mega-powerful firms weild enormous economic power, which more often than not translates into political power. America's about freedom and part of that freedom is being free from economic and political coercion.

I'm excited to share the new forum and look forward to chatting in an inbox near you :)

We've totally revamped our job search functionality on Employbl. As a celebration of that I wanted to put a post together showcasing all of the cool companies in the Bay Area that are hiring for Software Engineers. This doesn't even showcase all of the remote jobs that are available. Indeed some of these roles may be remote or partial remote work. I narrowed down the list quite a bit to fit into a blog post but should be a quick intro for anyone looking for a Software Engineering opportunity based in the SF Bay Area.
